Xiaomi Mix Flip: Galaxy Z Flip 6 competitor launches with large cover screen and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
Xiaomi has entered the clamshell foldable smartphone market with a bang. The Xiaomi Mix Flip wasn't exactly a secret and teased/leaked multiple times before its launch alongside the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4. It joins the long list of Chinese foldables which include heavy hitters like the Vivo X Flip, Honor Magic V Flip and Oppo Find N3 Flip. However, it distinguishes itself from the lot thanks to its large cover screen and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
Xiaomi's Mix Flip comes with a large 4-inch AMOLED cover display (1392 x 1208 pixels). It has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, 1,600 nits typical brightness, 3,000 nits peak brightness and supports HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision. Xiaomi lets you use it as a second screen, complete with full app functionality. This alone gives it an edge over the recently announced Galaxy Z Flip 6. For the primary display, you get a 6.86-inch AMOLED screen with the same specs.
Other Xiaomi Mix Flip specs include a 50 MP Leica Summilux lens and a 50 MP telephoto camera (2x optical zoom). For selfies, you get a 32 MP front-facing sensor. Memory and storage cap out at 16 GB and 1 TB, respectively. Lastly, the foldable comes with a 4,750 mAh battery with 67 Watt fast charging- more than what the Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers. Wireless connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, dual-frequency GPS and 5G. Unfortunately, its USB-C port is limited to USB 2.0 speeds instead of USB 3.2 on the Mix Fold 4.
You can buy the Xiaomi Mix Flip in China starting at RMB 6,000 (EUR 758). Its top-spec model retails at RMB 8,000 (EUR 922). It weighs 190 grams and measures 7.6 mm when unfolded.
