Having kept fans waiting for what once seemed like forever, Xiaomi has just dropped the first official posters for the Mix Fold 4, showing a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 rival that does indeed already look the part of the streamlined and "advanced" foldable it is backed to become.
The OEM asserts that the Mix Fold 3 successor is just 9.47 millimeters (mm) thick and and just 226g in terms of total mass - thinner and lighter than its Samsung foe, if so.
Nevertheless, the Fold 4 will be packed with Leica-branded quad ("dual-telephoto, dual-macro") rear cameras with Summilux optics and 5X periscope zoom; unusually fast 50W wireless charging and even 2-way satellite connectivity.
Despite all that, the Mix Fold 4 is also touted to avoid complete fragility thanks to an IPX8-rated chassis. It is now officially confirmed to debut alongside the premium (yet not foldable) Redmi K70 Extreme Edition and the Smart Band 9 on July 19, 2024 in China: an event that will also see company CEO Lei Jun's traditional Annual Speech, a keynote that will, ironically, stray onto the OEM's first-gen EV as a topic.
