The OnePlus Pad 2 is a flagship Android tablet through and through, featuring a refreshed design and updated internals. It also comes along with an upgraded optional keyboard and stylus.

OnePlus has followed up the OnePlus Pad (curr. $425 on Amazon) with a successor. Aptly named the OnePlus 2, the new flagship Android tablet is bigger, more powerful, and even has a few new tricks.

The OnePlus Pad 2 packs a 12.1-inch display, it is still LCD but the resolution has gone up from 2K to 3K (3000 x 2120). It retains the 144Hz refresh rate and the 7:5 aspect ratio but is brighter at 600 nits.

Under the aluminum unibody is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor paired with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The cameras remain unchanged from that of its predecessor. So you get a 13MP rear camera capable of recording at up to 4K at 30fps and an 8MP front camera that maxes out at 1080p 30fps.

OnePlus's new tablet has six speakers, two more than the OnePlus Pad, and alongside support for Dolby Vision, it should make it pretty nice for watching TV shows and movies. OnePlus left the battery capacity at 9,510mAh and it still supports 67W SUPERVOOC fast charging. There's a charger in the box, too.

On the software side, OnePlus has brought over its Open Canvas feature from the OnePlus Open for better multi-tasking. Users will be able to run up to three apps on the screen simultaneously. It wouldn't be a 2024 device if it didn't have AI features, and there are a handful. These include an 'AI Summary' feature that gives a summary of long articles, a 'Recording Summary' feature that converts and summarizes audio messages, and an AI writing assistant to help with your writing.

The OnePlus Pad 2 also comes with new accessories. The OnePlus Stylo 2 stylus has 16,000 levels of pressure sensitivity and comes in a nice black finish while the detachable OnePlus Pad Smart Keyboard has an extra row of function keys at the top and a much larger touchpad. Like the stylus, it comes in black to match the Nimbus Gray color of the tablet.

OnePlus has put a £499 and €549 price tag on the OnePlus Pad 2 in the UK and Europe respectively while those in North America will be able to grab it for $550. You can save £50/€50/$50 if you preorder while an early bird coupon will get you $100 off in North America. In India, it will sell for ₹39,999. Preorders are open today but open sale is scheduled for August 1 save for North America where it will be available on July 30.
