Next-gen Huawei tablet tipped to debut with Kirin processor, satellite messaging and fast charging
Huawei is working on a device that could succeed the MatePad Pro 13.2, according to eminent leaker Digital Chat Station.
The prolific tipster claims to have spotted the slate on the 3C regulatory database as the MRO-W00 or MRO-W10. Digital Chat Station does not specify whether its alleged Kirin platform will confer 5G on the new slate, although it is now believed to support the high-end feature of satellite messaging (which might explain the duality of model numbers).
Furthermore, it is now officially cleared to use a 100W Huawei SuperCharge power brick, whereas the 13.2 had 88W tech. The potentially upcoming 2024 MatePad-series flagship is also backed to debut with in-house Huawei Star Flash connectivity for a custom mouse and keyboard set.
Accordingly, this 'new MatePad' could prove a decent challenge for the new Apple iPad Pro 13 or upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra - then again, its putative top-end satellite-capable SKU might also have little chance of getting at either slate outside of China.
