Huawei 5G Kirin devices and clamshell foldable smartphone slated for imminent comeback
Huawei's next horizontally-folding smartphone will come as one of a crop of next-gen mobile devices that will also include the brand's next Kirin 5G-powered devices, according to a new leak. The clamshell is slated to have a design most like its highest-end predecessor, albeit with some tweaks of its own.
Huawei's Pocket series of clamshell foldable HarmonyOS smartphones are back for another generation, according to a well-known leaker. Digital Chat Station has posted an image of the supposed Pocket S successor's clear case as possible evidence of its existence.
The accessory suggests that the device will reprise the dual round cut-outs of the original P50 Pocket, although they have grown so large that they practically occupy the length of the rear panel in this iteration. This supposed device is said to launch as a 2024 product alongside others that include "2 Kirin 5G devices".
Digital Chat Station did not mention product names for either of the latter, although the Nova 12 and 12 Ultra (one of which also has a case matching one from a previous tip in this new leak) are also slated to join them on the 2024 launch stage.
The 12 Ultra will also reportedly launch with a Huawei 100W SuperCharge power brick, although as some Nova 11-series devices are also compatible with the same accessory, that would hardly come as a surprise.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
