Huawei has now presented the MatePad Pro 13.2, a direct competitor to the iPad Pro 12.9 and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Like other recent releases, Huawei has not confirmed what SoC powers the MatePad Pro 13.2. However, the tablet is expected to rely upon the Kirin 9000s after the Mate 60 series and the Mate X5.
According to Huawei, it has equipped the MatePad Pro 13.2 with an OLED display that spans 13.2-inches across in a 3:2 aspect ratio. The company adds that the huge display outputs at 2,880 x 1,920 pixels with a 144 Hz refresh rate, as well as 1,000 nits peak brightness and support for the Huawei M-Pencil. For reference, the latter is said to detect up to 10,000 pressure levels.
Moreover, the MatePad Pro 13.2 has a 38.89 Wh battery that supports up to 88 W charging and sits within a 5.5 mm thick housing. Overall, the MatePad Pro 13.2 weighs 580 g, with its 13 MP primary, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle and 16 MP front-facing cameras contributing slightly to this weight. As always, Huawei equips the MatePad Pro 13.2 with HarmonyOS 4 in China; it remains to be seen whether the company intends to offer the tablet globally yet, though.
As the video below shows, Huawei has also introduced a keyboard case with a built-in trackpad, mirroring the Surface Pro 9 and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Currently, the MatePad Pro 13.2 is available in Huawei's home market for CNY 5,199 (~US$714) with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Also, the company sells the tablet in higher memory configurations, up to a 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage SKU that retails for CNY 6,999 (~US$962).
