Teclast P85T: New budget Android 13 tablet arrives with 8-inch display for under US$100
Teclast has introduced a budget Android tablet, even by its standards. Arguably, Teclast has had a busier year than most Android OEMs, having released the M40 Pro 2023, T40S, T50 Pro, T40 Air and M50 Pro in 2023 alone. The company debuted an Intel Jasper Lake-based mini-PC last month too, covered separately.
Now, it has offered up the P85T, a tablet based around an Allwinner A523 chipset, 4 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and a 5,000 mAh battery. As CNX Software discussed earlier this year, Allwinner has equipped the A523 with eight ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores split equally into two clusters operating at 1.8 GHz and 1.42 GHz, respectively. Also, the Allwinner A523 has a Mali-G57 MC1 GPU, all built around 22 nm nodes.

According to Teclast, the P85T also has an 8-inch display that resolves at 1,280 x 800 pixels, plus 64 GB of eMMC 5.1 flash storage, a MicroSD card slot, a USB Type-C port and a 3.5 mm jack. Furthermore, Teclast has included 2 MP rear-facing and 0.3 MP front-facing cameras. For reference, the P85T is slightly larger than the most recent iPad Mini, which weighs 293 g and measures 195.4 x 134.8 x 6.3 mm.
In comparison, the P85T weighs 340 g and measures 201.7 x 122.4 x 9.1 mm. Currently, Teclast has listed the P85T for US$79.99 and sells a Folio Case for an additional US$14.99. Please see the company's website for more details.
