Teclast has refreshed the M40 Pro with a different chipset, more RAM and faster storage. Now called the M40 Pro 2023, the 10.1-inch tablet also runs Android 12, rather than the older Android 11 that Teclast saddled with the original M40 Pro.

Teclast has introduced the M40 Pro 2023, a refreshed version of the M40 Pro that it launched last year. As its name implies, the M40 Pro 2023 carries over several features from its predecessor, including its 10.1-inch display and 7,000 mAh battery. For reference, the former offers a 1,920 x 1,200-pixel resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio.

According to Teclast, the M40 Pro 2023 contains a more powerful chipset, more RAM, faster storage and runs a newer version of Android than its predecessor. Specifically, the M40 Pro 2023 relies on Android 12, which it runs using the Unisoc Tiger T616, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage. In comparison, the original M40 Pro offered Android 11, the Unisoc T618, 6 GB of RAM and slower storage.

Our database suggests that the Unisoc Tiger T616 is only a few percent faster than the Unisoc Tiger T618, so expect performance improvements to be limited or even unnoticeable. The M40 Pro 2023 is currently only orderable on AliExpress. However, Teclast will eventually offer the tablet through Amazon. At the time of writing, the M40 Pro 2023 costs US$155.64 through AliExpress.
