Digital Chat Station has outlined specifications for the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro, two long-awaited successors to the Pad 5 series. To recap, Xiaomi announced the Pad 5 and Pad 5 Pro in August 2021 with Snapdragon 860 and Snapdragon 870 chipsets, respectively. Subsequently, the company introduced the Pad 5 Pro 12.4 and the Redmi Pad, with the latter arriving a mere four months ago.
According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi will equip the Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro with the same 11-inch display panel. Reportedly, this panel will operate natively at 2,880 x 1,800 pixels and with a 120 Hz or 144 Hz refresh rate. The display is also expected to support Dolby Vision and HDR10+ technologies; there is no word on brightness levels or Corning Gorilla glass usage, though.
Moreover, Digital Chat Station claims that the Snapdragon 870 will return but in the Pad 6. By contrast, the Pad 6 Pro should lead the way with the new Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. While the latter is considerably newer than the former, our benchmarks show less than a 30% performance difference in the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1's favour. A release date remains unknown at this stage, but Digital Chat Station adds that both devices should be available with 12 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage, capacitive fingerprint scanners and 67 W fast wired charging.
