ONYX BOOX Palma: Compact E-reader with Google Play Store access now orderable in Europe and US
ONYX is now selling the BOOX Palma freely, having opened pre-orders for the E-reader in July. To recap, the ONYX BOOX Palma runs Android 11 and is compatible with the Google Play Store. Thus, you can run any eBook on the ONYX BOOX Palma, unlike its Amazon Kindle competitors.
To that effect, ONYX has included 128 GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage and a MicroSD card slot should you need additional space. Additionally, the BOOX Palma has an unnamed Qualcomm chipset with an octa-core CPU and a BSR GPU. Moreover, OYNX has complemented the chipset with 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and a 3,950 mAh battery that fits within a 159 x 80 x 8 mm housing and contributes to a 170 g total weight.
Furthermore, the BOOX Palma has a 6.13-inch E Ink Carta 1200 display with a 300 PPI pixel density thanks to an 824 x 1648-pixel native resolution. Also, the display has a capacitive touch layer, a front light that supports warm and cold colour temperatures and a G-sensor for auto rotation. The ONYX BOOX Palma is orderable now in black and white colour options for US$279.99 in the US and €299.99 in the Eurozone. Please see ONYX's website for more details.
