Zotac showcases new ZBOX Edge mini-PCs with powerful Intel Raptor Lake processors
Zotac has introduced new ZBOX mini-PCs, a few days after presenting the ZBOX Pro PI339 with the Intel Processor N100. This time, the company has offered up the ZBOX Edge MI648 and ZBOX Edge MI668, a pair of mini-PCs based around Intel Raptor Lake-P processors. As Liliputing summarises, both machines feature the following ports within 149.5 x 149.5 x 28.5 mm chassis:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 2x Gigabit Ethernet
- 1x HDMI 2.0
- 1x Thunderbolt 4
- 3x USB 3.1 Type-A
- 1x USB 3.1 Type-C
Additionally, Zotac has equipped both mini-PCs with two storage options: an M.2 2280 slot for NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSDs and an M.2 2242 slot that supports SATA or NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4 drives. Moreover, the company has included dual SO-DIMM slots that can accommodate up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM clocked at 4,800 MHz or 5,200 MHz. On top of that, Zotac has integrated a modem that provides Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, albeit potentially through a soldered solution and not an M.2 2230 module.
Zotac has not confirmed pricing or availability for either mini-PC yet. However, it has outlined that the ZBOX Edge MI648 and ZBOX Edge MI668 rely on the Core i5-1340P and Core i7-1360P, respectively. According to our database, the latter averages 18% faster performance than the former despite sharing the same 4 P and 8 E CPU cores. Please see Zotac's product listings for more details.
