ASUS begins selling NUC 13 Pro and NUC 13 Extreme mini-PCs with support confirmed for earlier models
ASUS has elaborated on the details of its commitment to the NUC brand. To recap, Intel discontinued the brand in early July, joining the company's 5G modem, Optane memory and server subdivisions. Subsequently, Intel announced a few days late that ASUS would pick up the brand, albeit without providing too many specifics.
Now, ASUS has confirmed that it will start by focusing on selling the NUC 13 Pro and NUC 13 Extreme. For reference, Intel designed the NUC 13 Pro with up to a Core i7-1370P processor, as well as 64 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, dual HDMI 2.1 ports, a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. By contrast, the NUC 13 Extreme is available with a Core i9-13900K processor, a discrete GPU, DDR5-5600 RAM and a trio of storage options.
In short, ASUS' versions of the NUC 13 Pro and NUC 13 Extreme are technically identical to Intel's original models. According to ASUS, not only will it sell NUC mini-PCs, but it will also continue to support existing models with 10th Gen Intel Core processors or newer. Please see ASUS' website for more details.
