Huawei has now released the Mate 60 Pro Plus, likely the premier model in the Mate 60 series after the Mate 60 and Mate 60 Pro. Contrary to earlier expectations, the Mate 60 Pro Plus does not feature four-punch hole cutouts within its large display. Instead, the Mate 60 Pro Plus and Mate 60 Pro look identical from the front, with a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED panel interspersed with three cutouts.
With that being said, the Mate 60 Pro Plus outputs natively at 2,720 x 1,260 pixels, compared to 2,616 x 1,212 pixels for the Mate 60 Pro. Thus, the Mate 60 Pro Plus has a more pixel-dense display, with a 440 PPI pixel density instead of the 423 PPI that the Mate 60 Pro provides. Huawei pairs the higher resolution display with the same Kirin 9000S chipset and 5,000 mAh battery as the Mate 60 Pro though, meaning that the Mate 60 Pro Plus will likely consume slightly more power than its Pro counterpart.
Additionally, Huawei only offers the Mate 60 Pro Plus with 16 GB of RAM, either with 512 GB or 1 TB of storage. By contrast, the Mate 60 Pro tops out at 12 GB of RAM and the same amount of storage. Also, the Mate 60 Pro Plus has a tweaked camera system, albeit with the same 13 MP front-facing and 48 MP telephoto cameras as the Mate 60 Pro. Specifically, Huawei equips the Mate 60 Pro Plus with 48 MP primary and 40 MP ultra-wide-angle cameras, compared to the 50 MP primary and 12 MP ultra-wide-angle cameras in the Mate 60 Pro.
While Huawei has opened pre-orders in China, it has not revealed Mate 60 Pro Plus pricing yet, which also applies to the Mate X5. Reportedly, Huawei's premier Mate 60 series handset could retail for anywhere up to CNY 8,999 (~US$1,228), though. As usual, Huawei has not discussed a global release yet, although it has already confirmed that the Mate 60 Pro will remain a Chinese exclusive.
