Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus to launch later this month with customised MediaTek Dimensity and Samsung ISOCELL hardware
Xiaomi has begun teasing the Redmi Note 13 series following a series of detailed leaks. To recap, the 3C and MIIT have revealed various details about the 2312DRA50C and 23090RA98C in the last few weeks. For reference, the information that both regulatory bodies provided suggested that the 2312DRA50C was the Redmi Note 13 Pro, with the 23090RA98C earmarked as the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus.
While Xiaomi will only sell the pair in China, their global counterparts are likely to share almost all the same hardware. Seemingly, the Redmi Note 13 series will start with the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, which Xiaomi has confirmed will rely upon a new MediaTek chipset and a customised Samsung ISOCELL camera sensor. Specifically, Xiaomi has chosen the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra and the ISOCELL HP3 Discovery Edition, which Xiaomi implies have been developed in tandem to optimise image quality.
If the Dimensity 8100 Ultra powering the Xiaomi 12T is anything to go by, little will separate the Dimensity 7200 Ultra from the regular Dimensity 7200. For context, MediaTek bases the latter on 4 nm TSMC nodes and integrates a Mali-G610 MC4 GPU, plus ARM Cortex-A715 and Cortex-A510 CPU cores. Likewise, it appears that the ISOCELL HP3 Discovery Edition retains the same core characteristics as the ISOCELL HP3 used in the Honor 90, Honor 90 Pro and Realme 11 Pro Plus.
Thus, the ISOCELL HP3 Discovery Edition has a 200 MP native output with a 1/1.4-inch optical format, an f/1.65 aperture and 0.56 μm-wide pixels before pixel binning. Currently, Xiaomi has not confirmed a release date for the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus. Instead, it has hinted that the device will debut in China at the end of the month.
