OnePlus fixes a flaw in its 'Any device, Any Condition' trade-in program
OnePlus, like several other manufacturers allows buyers to trade in an eligible device when they want to purchase a new device, allowing them to save on the total cost of the new device. However, in addition to its 'Eligible Device' program, it also offers a second trade-in program it calls 'Any device ANY condition' where buyers can trade-in any device regardless of its condition for a recycling reward (read discount) towards the new purchase.

Earlier this month, it was reported that buyers could get the trade-in discount without turning in their old device. OnePlus has now issued a statement saying it has blocked the loophole according to a report by Android Authority. The official statement says that buyers who choose the 'ANY device ANY condition' trade-in program will 'receive a separate communication' from their recycling partner to trade in their old device.
The official statement also mentioned that an investigation was carried out to identify the flaw affected some users but didn't say if these users will be contacted to turn in their old devices.
OnePlus offers this alternative trade-in device for anyone whose device is not on the eligible trade-in device list or whose device is broken or no longer functioning. It also promises that the old or broken device will be reused or disposed of in an environmentally responsible way. In addition, the reward is instant unlike the regular trade-in program which can be either an instant credit or a cashback. It is important to note that the ANY device ANY condition trade-in program is not available in all regions.
