Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6: New case leak purports to confirm generational design differences
Jeff Springer is a veteran Android vlogger (and mathematician) who has been releasing Samsung Galaxy Unpacked-themed mystery boxes in the US in conjunction with each major product announced at each event for years.
To that end, Springer claims to have laid hands on a Galaxy Z Fold6 case in advance - however, Samsung might not be very inclined to respond to its appearance on YouTube due to the sheer dearth of spoilers involved.
The vlogger proceeded to demonstrate that it is nearly possible to fit a Z Fold5 into the new case, particularly from the corner with the triple rear camera hump. The device and accessory were also practically compatible in terms of thickness, with speaker grilles that matched up with corresponding cut-outs.
Then again, it seems the Z Fold6 is slightly, yet potentially significantly, shorter than its predecessor; therefore, the 2024 foldable might at least look wider thanks to its sharper, S24 Ultra-like corners and allegedly minimal cover screen bezels.
Nevertheless, this new leak seems to ultimately dash all hopes of a less skinny Galaxy Z Fold 6 into the dust. Accordingly, those who buy a new Z Fold5 on Amazon for up to $400 off its typical price today might end up feeling they don't miss out on that much - unless they want the new AI features, that is.
