Samsung has finally confirmed the rollout date for One UI 6.1 to non Galaxy S24 devices. Debuting later this week across the Galaxy S23 series, the update will not arrive until some point next month for many models.

Earlier this week, numerous sources claimed that Samsung had set a date for the release of One UI 6.1 to older smartphones and tablets. For context, the update is already available across the Galaxy S24 series, including the Galaxy S24 Ultra (curr. $1,149.99 on Amazon). Incidentally, Samsung has just delivered a set of camera improvements to the same devices, full details of which we have covered separately.

Now, the company has confirmed that One UI 6.1 will reach the first batch of devices on March 28. Unfortunately, there are a few caveats to that date. Specifically, this date only applies to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5:

...sold at Samsung.com, carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, US cellular, Verizon and more, as well as retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, and others.

On the face of it, that sounds like almost all Galaxy S23 series and fifth-generation Galaxy Z devices that Samsung could have sold. However, a footnote states that One UI 6.1 will roll out to unlocked versions of these devices 'beginning in April'. By contrast, Samsung claims that the same update will land across Wi-Fi versions of the Galaxy Tab S9 series 'beginning this week'.

Seemingly, all Galaxy AI features have been ported for these devices. With that being said, we would recommend waiting until One UI 6.1 lands for a given device before determining whether all Galaxy AI features have been brought across. Incidentally, Samsung has hinted that the Galaxy S22 series could eventually receive Galaxy AI features too, which it outlined earlier this month.
