Cheaper Galaxy Z Fold6 variant price and camera configuration revealed in new leak

Samsung’s 2024 foldable lineup might have a third entrant. So far, leaks have suggested that the new foldable that will go on sale alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6 and the Galaxy Z Flip6 is a cheaper version of the Galaxy Z Fold6. The company is allegedly preparing a more budget-friendly Galaxy Z Fold6 to gain more traction in the Chinese market.

Thanks to a report from Korean publication Sisa Journal e, we now know the price segment of the more affordable Galaxy Z Fold6 or the Galaxy Z Fold6 FE. 

The cheaper Galaxy Z Fold6 variant is said to cost “less than $800”. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold5 launch price was set at $1,799 while the Galaxy Z Flip5 landed at $999. Assuming the “less than $800” Galaxy Z Fold6 price is accurate, we can’t imagine it costing less than $700. If true, this would price the phone in the range of the Galaxy S23 (Available on Amazon) and the iPhone 15 (Available on Amazon).

What’s more interesting, however, is that Samsung might not compromise on the cameras of the affordable Galaxy Z Fold6 as the phone could retain the cameras of the Galaxy Z Fold5. Since the Galaxy Z Fold5 has a triple camera system on the back, it is unclear which of the two secondary shooters (ultrawide/zoom) makes its way to the cheaper Fold6 if Samsung indeed decides to outfit the smartphone in this manner.

If past leaks are any indication, we’ll know more about the Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, and the Galaxy Z Fold6 FE as we move closer to the launch. But until Samsung reveals anything official, take the information presented here with a grain of salt.
