Vivo announces X Fold3 Pro market-leading specifications as launch pricing leaks
Vivo has now lifted the lid on the X Fold3 series, which is expected to arrive as the X Fold3 and X Fold3 Pro. To recap, the company confirmed earlier this week that its next-generation foldables would debut on March 26 during a launch event scheduled to start at 11:00 UTC. While there have been rumours of Vivo offering the X Fold3 series globally, the company has not officially commented on the release of either device outside China yet.
Regardless, it has outlined various X Fold3 Pro specifications that should help the device stand out from the likes of the Galaxy Z Fold5 (curr. $1,499.99 on Amazon), OnePlus Open and Magic V2. Supposedly, the X Fold3 Pro will weigh a mere 221 g, which would make it over 4% lighter than the Magic V2, the standard-bearer when it comes to foldable thinness and lightness. However, Vivo is said to have equipped the X Fold3 Pro with a 5,700 mAh battery, a 700 mAh and 14% higher combined capacity than Honor's latest foldable.
Likewise, these specifications outstrip all current book-style foldable competitors, including the Galaxy Z Fold5 and OnePlus Open. The X Fold3 Pro is rumoured to have a particularly high starting price, though, as the photo below demonstrates. Specifically, a photo shared by WHYLAB on Weibo shows the X Fold3 Pro starting at CNY 13,999 (~$1,945) with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, or CNY 1,000 more for a 1 TB option (~$2,083). Ultimately, Chinese prices do not convert well for various reasons. Nonetheless, they underline that the X Fold3 Pro will be one of the most expensive smartphones around if Vivo ever releases it globally.
