Apple could be preparing AR glasses for release in 2027 according to a product roadmap from Samsung Securities. The roadmap also suggests that Cupertino is debuting foldable devices over the next three years including foldable iPhones and a 20-inch foldable iPad.

Apple kicked off 2024 with the release of its long-awaited Vision Pro VR headset in early February. Later, the company launched the M3 MacBook Air in early March (check out our review). Apple is yet to reveal the OLED iPads that were previously rumored to be launching in March at the earliest. Looking ahead, the company is reportedly planning to release a bunch of new products, including foldables, in the next few years.

Samsung Securities, a subsidiary of Samsung, reports that 2025 will see the release of the iPhone SE 4 with a 6.1-inch OLED panel and a 48 MP camera. Additionally, regular iPhone models, possibly the iPhone 17 series, could top out at 48 MP triple cameras, 12 GB of DRAM, and a 48 MP front camera with OIS. The roadmap also mentions a “Pol-less” display for the 2025 iPhones. Samsung first introduced the Polarizer-less or “Pol-less” OLED panel in the Galaxy Z Fold3. Due to the absence of an external polarizer layer, pol-less OLEDs are brighter, more efficient, and thinner than standard OLEDs.

Moving into 2026, the roadmap lists foldable iPhones, a low-end iPhone XR, and OLED MacBooks (14 and 16-inch SKUs). The foldable iPhones could have screen sizes of 6 and 8 inches and feature Low Latency Wide (LLW) DRAM which Samsung announced in January. Moreover, we may also get to see iPad mini and iPad Air models with 8.4 and 10.9-inch OLED displays.

Finally, Samsung Securities sees Apple releasing a 20-inch foldable iPad and AR glasses. The AR glasses reportedly use a 1.4-inch RGB display of Micro OLED or Micro LED kind. As a reference, the Apple Vision Pro also uses a Micro OLED display. Sadly, the roadmap suggests no other details regarding the AR glasses.

It is pertinent to mention that, while Apple’s purported product roadmap is quite exciting, it is common for companies to reschedule or completely cancel a hardware product like Apple recently did with its EV project. So, take the roadmap presented here with a giant grain of salt.
