Apple releases iOS 17.4.1 and iPadOS 17.4.1 as well as updates for older iPhones and iPads

Apple has just released another update for iPhones and iPads. iOS 17.4.1 and iPadOS 17.4.1 are now available for download and can be installed on compatible devices in the usual way under Settings -> General -> Software Update.

As the version number indicates, this is just a minor update following the slew of new features recently introduced with iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4. It only includes a few bug fixes and security updates. Nevertheless, Apple recommends that all users install this update.

iOS 16.7.7 and iPadOS 16.7.7 for older iPhones and iPads

iOS 16.7.7 and iPadOS 16.7.7 have also been made available for download and are updates for older models. These fix undefined vulnerabilities. iOS 16.7.7 is available for the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, while iPadOS 16.7.7 can be installed on the first generation iPad Pro (9.7 and 12.9 inches) as well as the fifth and sixth generation iPad.

visionOS 1.1.1 for the Apple Vision Pro

These series of updates is rounded off by visionOS 1.1.1, which is more relevant to users in the US, as it is an update for the OS of the new Apple Vision Pro, which is yet to receive an international launch. Like the other aforementioned updates, this a small update to fix bugs and improve stability. Apple also recently rolled out a major update for visionOS 1.1, which introduced a number of new features.
