Apple MacBook Air 13 with M2 becomes cheaper than ever after the latest price cut
Apple launched the MacBook Air M2 in 2022 at a starting price of $1,199, prompting us to term the laptop as “too expensive” in our review. Our negative sentiment towards the M2 MacBook Air was partly because of the meager 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage that adorn the entry-level model. While Apple did fix the problem somewhat by pricing the M3 MacBook Air at $1,099 and officially discounting the M2 MacBook Air 13 down to $999, folks may still be disappointed with the laptops owing to the paltry storage and RAM which remain unchanged in the newest MacBook Air.
If you are one such unhappy customer, you might be relieved to know that the entry-level M2 MacBook Air has now dropped to only $849 on Amazon and Best Buy. Unsurprisingly, the price cut makes a big difference to the overall value proposition offered by the MacBook Air M2.
In our review of the M2 MacBook Air 13, the machine, with its 92% rating, showed stellar build quality, good inputs, and a commendable 13.6-inch display with 486 nits of average brightness, 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut, and a 1,400:1 contrast ratio.
Thanks to the Apple M2 and its double-digit multi-core performance uplift over the M1, the MacBook Air 13 packs enough horsepower to chew through productivity workloads and routine tasks. You also don’t have to worry about fan noise as the laptop, like its predecessor, features a fan-less design.
Lastly, the MacBook Air 13 (2022) retains the excellent battery life that is the hallmark of Apple’s laptops ever since the shift to in-house silicon. We measured a Wi-Fi websurfing endurance of over 15 hours, meaning the laptop will comfortably last a full workday of non-intensive use.
Put simply, if you want an Apple MacBook that doesn’t break the bank, the M2 MacBook Air 13 on sale for $849 is an easy recommendation.
