Google Pixel Fold 2 display size revealed by industry analyst
A recent leak gave us our first glimpse at the Google Pixel Fold 2. The Pixel Fold 2 has a bulky square-shaped camera module at the back, unlike its predecessor's Pixel 8 Pro-inspired (curr. $999 on Amazon) design. Now, DSCC's Ross Young has revealed some new details about its display.
The analyst says the Pixel Fold 2 will sport an 8.02-inch main display and a 6.29-inch panel for the cover, much larger than the Pixel Fold's 7.6-inch and 5.8-inch displays. Its resolution and refresh rate are unknown, but the latter is likely to be 120 Hz on both fronts. An 8.02-inch primary display puts it on par with the Mi Mix Fold 3, making it one of the largest foldables on the market.
Young says mass production of the Pixel Fold 2's display will start sometime in April and that "it is coming". It rules out the possibility of the next-gen foldable launching in May. Given that the Pixel Fold 2 is slated to run a Tensor G4 SoC, Google will likely unveil it alongside the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro in October this year. One can only hope Google launches it globally this time.
