Deal | Acer Predator Helios 16: High-end gaming laptop with Core i9-13900HX and GeForce RTX 4080 gets $450 price cut
Acer recently refreshed the Predator Helios 16 with 14th-gen Raptor Lake-HX processors. However, it costs an eye-watering $2,799.99 on Acer's website. However, its Intel Core i9-13900HX variant can be had for much cheaper. It is a good deal because the Core i9-14900HX isn't all that much faster than the 13900HX, and it's a bit more power efficient, which matters a lot on laptops.
You can buy the above Acer Predator Helios 16 model on Best Buy for $1849.99. It comes with a GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card, 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1 TB NVMe SSD. Our in-depth review of the Core i7-13700HX + RTX 4060 variant determined it is easy to open up the laptop's chassis and upgrade the RAM (up to 32 GB supported). You can add a second SSD if required and even swap out the Wi-Fi card if needed.
Other Acer Predator Helios 16 specs include a 16-inch IPS QHD+ panel clocked at 240 Hz. It supports Nvidia G-Sync, has an advertised peak brightness of 500 nits and covers 97% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. For I/O, you get two Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, three USB 3 Type-A ports, a micro SD card reader and a gigabit ethernet jack.
