Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra/Slim variant reportedly still under development
Recent developments suggest that Samsung's plans for an additional Galaxy Z Fold 6 variant, codenamed Q6a, are still in motion, contrary to earlier reports of its cancellation. This special edition, potentially dubbed 'Ultra' or 'Slim', appears to be progressing in development, albeit with a limited market focus.
Samsung's firmware servers have recently shown activity related to a device with the model number SM-F958N. This development contradicts earlier speculation that the project had been halted. The emergence of test firmware for South Korean versions of the device, identified by country codes KOO, KTC, SKC, and LUC, strongly indicates that work on this variant continues.
Current information indicates a highly restricted release for this special Galaxy Z Fold 6 model. While initially rumored to be exclusive to South Korea, it may also launch in China, as per previous leaks. The device might be marketed as the W25 in the Chinese market.
Max Jambor, a leaker, speculates that this exclusive Galaxy Z Fold 6 variant could be released in October.
However, the recent commencement of firmware development suggests an official launch may still be some time away, with the apparent focus on select Asian markets indicating that global availability remains unlikely.
