Redmi Pad SE 8.7: Full specs for new 4G Xiaomi Redmi tablet leak before official release
Sudhanshu Ambhore has now revealed what he claims are 'complete and final specs' for the Redmi Pad SE 8.7, Xiaomi's next budget tablet offering. To recap, the same leaker provided a few details about the same tablet a few days, full coverage of which we have provided separately. According to the leaker, the tablet will measure 211.58 x 125.48 x 8.8 mm, which would make it a lot smaller than the existing Redmi Pad SE (curr. $152 on Amazon).
Additionally, it is said to weigh 375 g, in part thanks to a 6,650 mAh battery and an 8.7-inch LCD panel. For reference, the former should be capable of recharging at up to 18 W via its USB Type-C port, of which it will only have one. Meanwhile, its compact display is expected to deliver an 800 x 1,340-pixel resolution, as well as 600 nits of peak brightness, DC dimming, a 90 Hz refresh rate and a 1,500:1 contrast ratio. Moreover, Xiaomi has certified the display as being TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free compliant.
On top of that, the tablet will house 5 MP front-facing and 8 MP rear-facing cameras that can record videos in up to 1080p at 30 FPS. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has opted for the Helio G85, a 12 nm MediaTek chipset that performs worse in our benchmarks than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 that underpins the existing Redmi Pad SE. Incidentally, while Ambhore refers to the tablet as the Redmi Pad SE 8.7, Xiaomi may market it on account of its 4G capabilities. Consequently, it appears that the tablet will be available as the Redmi Pad SE 4G when it debuts on July 29.
