According to recent leaks, Samsung is reportedly working on a feature similar to Apple's Dynamic Island for its upcoming One UI 7. The South Korean tech giant appears to be following in the footsteps of other Android manufacturers in adapting Apple's user interface element.
Leaker @chunvn8888 on X (formerly Twitter) claims that Samsung's next Android OS skin will include a feature similar to Apple's Dynamic Island. While details remain scarce, this development is expected to be part of the One UI 7 update.
Apple introduced Dynamic Island with the iPhone 14 Pro series, transforming the notch area into an interactive user interface. The feature displays various information, including media controls, alerts, and Live Activities for navigation or delivery tracking.
Samsung wouldn't be the first Android manufacturer to adopt this concept. Realme and OnePlus have already introduced similar features, albeit with limited functionality confined to specific apps. Honor has also implemented a comparable feature on its Magic 6 Pro model.
The potential addition of a Dynamic Island-like feature to One UI 7 comes amid observations that Samsung is drawing increasing inspiration from Apple's designs. Recent examples include the Galaxy Buds 3, which bears a striking resemblance to Apple's AirPods, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, which shares numerous similarities with the Apple Watch Ultra.
OneUI 7 has Samsung's version of Apple's Dynamic Island and Live Activities.
