Lenovo launches new Dimensity 8300-powered tablet with ~$262 starting price

The 2024 Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro has been officially showcased at the 2024 ChinaJoy expo. It has launched in two different versions: one is standard, and the other one comes with a paper display. The first one has a starting price of CNY 1899, around $262, while the latter starts at CNY 2199, about $303.

As for the specs, the 2024 Xiaoxin Pad Pro packs the Dimensity 8300, the flagship SoC from last year. This MediaTek chip is a step up when compared to the 2023 model of the tablet, which came with Snapdragon 870. This SoC of the 2024 model is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The base model for both versions has an 8/128 GB configuration.

On the front, the Android tablet sports a 12.7-inch screen with a 2.9K resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate, and wide DCI-P3 color gamut. For audio, the Android tablet has a custom JBL four-speaker setup. Lenovo says that the display and the speaker system are capable of delivering an immersive audio-visual experience.

Lenovo also says that the 2024 Xiaoxin Pro 12.7 tablet offers a smooth writing experience with a stylus. The version with the paper display is said to deliver paper-like realism. Other highlights include Lenovo Xiaotian, which is powered by Tianxi LLM model, support for magnetic keyboard, a 10,200 mAh battery with 45W fast charging, and an all-metal body.

There's no word on global availability and pricing yet, but Lenovo recently rebranded the Xiaoxin Pad Studio as Tab Plus in the international markets (32 GB M10 Plus 3rd Gen curr. $139.99 on Amazon). So, there's a chance that this tablet may also get rebranded to a different name for regions outside China.
