These 8 new games are coming to the Nintendo Switch in August
Between August 1 and 29, eight new games and two DLCs will be added to the Nintendo eShop. On the very first day of the month, a game that Star Wars fans have been waiting for some time will be released. There is also something for fans of puzzle games, manga RPGs and crime games in August.
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter - August 1st
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is a third-person action game in which players hunt down the dark Jedi Komari Vosa as Jango Fett. Using a variety of weapons and gadgets, players explore different Star Wars worlds, collect bounties and upgrade Jango's equipment. The game was first released in 2002 for the PlayStation 2 and is now getting a new edition.
Thank Goodness You're Here! - August 1st
This humorous adventure game invites players to take on the role of a traveling merchant and explore a quirky town full of quirky characters. Using point-and-click mechanics, players solve puzzles and explore a charming and cartoonish world inspired by a small British town.
World of Goo 2 - August 2nd
World of Goo 2 is a physics-based puzzle game in which players use goo balls to build structures and overcome obstacles. The physics engine plays a central role, with each type of goo ball having different properties and abilities. The second part of the game comes with new Goo-Ball types, challenging levels and a co-op mode.
Cat Quest III - August 8th
Cat Quest III is a 2.5D open-world action RPG set in a pirate-inspired world called Purribean. Players take on the role of a feline buccaneer and explore an archipelago full of "pi-rats" to find the mythical treasure of the North Star. The game offers both a solo and a local co-op mode in which players can search for treasures, explore dungeons and fight battles together. Players can already let off steam in the free demo version until August 8.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles - August 8th
This action RPG, based on the manga of the same name, takes players into the world of Tempest. Players take on the role of Rimuru Tempest and experience action-packed battles with combos and special attacks. Along the way, players can expand their community from a small village to a large nation, construct various buildings and use the "Tempest Resonance" system to strengthen the inhabitants.
SteamWorld Heist II - August 8th
SteamWorld Heist II is a tactical, turn-based strategy game in which players take on the role of Captain Leeway and fight against a mysterious threat with the support of the Steambot crew. The game features real-time naval battles, a deep job system and over 150 customizable pieces of equipment.
Cult of the Lamb: Unholy Alliance (DLC) - August 12th
In this roguelike action-adventure, players take control of a possessed lamb that has been saved from death by a mysterious stranger. To repay this debt, players must build a cult and retain followers through rituals and sermons. The game combines base building and dungeon crawling: players collect resources, build structures, fight enemies and bosses in randomly generated dungeons and lead their cult through daily rituals and sermons. The "Unholy Alliance" DLC brings new cult factions to the game, allowing players to forge alliances with other dark forces and gain exclusive benefits. Additionally, new challenging dungeons and bosses will be introduced, offering unique rewards and rare items.
DREDGE - The Iron Rig (DLC) - August 15th
DREDGE is an adventure and simulation game in which you play a fisherman fishing on the open sea, uncovering mysterious and sometimes creepy secrets. The game combines traditional fishing mechanics with a dark, Lovecraft-esque setting. Players explore different bodies of water, catch unusual fish species and discover hidden secrets beneath the surface. The DLC expands the main game with a new side story in which players work with the Ironhaven Corporation to build a base. There are also over 50 new fish species, new characters, expanded equipment and new challenges.
Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club - August 29th
This crime adventure is played from the perspective of a private detective assistant. Players assist the police in solving a mysterious murder case in which a schoolboy has been found dead with his head stuck in a paper bag with a grinning face. This disturbing scene is reminiscent of the urban legend of the smiling man who supposedly gives his victims an eternal smile. Players must gather clues, question witnesses and uncover links to past tragic events to uncover the truth. The game is the first new title in the Famicom Detective Club series for 35 years.
Gundam Breaker 4 - August 29
Gundam Breaker 4 is an action RPG in which players can create and customize their own Gundam models from hundreds of components. These "Gunpla" are then tested in battles against enemy mechs. The game features a variety of missions - both offline and online - in which players can collect new parts and upgrade their Gunpla by defeating enemies.
