Gaming insider Paul Gale recently reported that the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 will launch with major third-party AAA ports. Now, a new report from a reputed leaker claims that the gaming handheld will get ports of Assassin’s Creed Shadows and other entries of the series.

Last week, Paul Gele, a known gaming insider, shared that the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 will get major third-party AAA ports at launch. This is something to look forward to because the first-gen gaming handheld didn't get any AAA titles at launch. But Paul didn't share which titles were expected.

A new report from a reputed leaker named Nash Weedle now shares that a couple of Assassin's Creed titles will be ported to the gaming handheld. The leaker shares that Ubisoft reportedly plans to get the latest entry, Assassin's Creed Shadows, ready for the launch window of Nintendo Switch 2, backing up the report made by Paul Gele last week.

Nash Weddle adds that the gaming handheld will get ports for Assassin's Creed Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla, and Mirage over time. The leaker claims that the Skull and Bones port for Nintendo Switch 2 is in the works too. Moreover, Ubisoft is said to be betting heavily on the new gaming handheld, likely due to the success the first-gen console has seen.

Necro Felipe, who was proven to be reliable when it comes to Nintendo-related leaks, backed up Nash Weddle's report on the Assassin's Creed Shadows port. However, Felipe didn't comment on the other aspects of the leak. Another thing to note is that there's no info on how well these Assassin's Creed ports will run on the Nintendo Switch 2 (first-gen Switch curr. $279.99 on Amazon).

The first-gen gaming handheld also received a couple of ports after launch. But not all of them run well on the dated hardware it packs. Take The Outer Worlds for Nintendo Switch, for example. The blurry and low-res nature, paired with inconsistent frame rates, make the game not so enjoyable on the handheld.

Worth noting that a recent rumor claims that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be as powerful as the Steam Deck. While that's not the most capable handheld on the market, it can run most AAA titles at playable frames. But again, Nintendo has yet to share specifics about the upcoming console, so you should take all these leaks and rumors with a pinch of salt.
