While the Nintendo Switch lacks major third-party titles, fans can hope to play AAA games such as Halo Infinite or Cyberpunk 2077 on the Switch successor, according to recent rumors.

The Nintendo Switch (available on Amazon for $295) stands out primarily due to its top-tier exclusive titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. However, it lacks significant releases from third-party developers. The Nintendo Switch 2 might address this gap. According to well-known gaming insider Paul Gale on X, the Switch successor is expected to launch with several major ports, simultaneous releases, and exclusive titles.

With a planned release in March 2025, the supposed Nintendo Switch 2 could benefit from third-party developers such as Ubisoft, EA and others bringing their major titles to the new platform. At this stage, we can only speculate as to which games these will be. One could think of big names such as Halo Infinite, Cyberpunk 2077 or Starfield. On Reddit a discussion has already broken out on this topic.

Ports of such games would represent a considerable boost for Nintendo's new console and significantly increase its competitiveness on the market. Speculation about the technical improvements of the Switch 2 to support demanding games are fueling the rumors further.
