Assassin's Creed Shadows is one of the upcoming games many fans are waiting for. While Ubisoft delaying the launch was bad news, a new report shares something good: the game may get a co-op mode after the release.

Ubisoft has recently confirmed that Assassin's Creed Shadows will launch later than expected. It was originally planned to be released on November 12, but the game was delayed to mid-February 2025. As we covered recently, this delay is reportedly due to the need to refine the game and meet the expectations of the fans.

While the delay was bad news for the gamers waiting to play Assassin's Creed Shadows, a new report shares some good news. Tom Henderson, a known insider, says that Ubisoft is developing a co-op mode for the game, which will land with an update after launch.

The insider didn't share any other details on the cooperative mode other than saying that it's codenamed "LEAGUE" and the mode has been in development for quite a while now. So, it isn't among the reasons why Assassin's Creed Shadows was delayed.

Tom further highlights that this won't be the only multiplayer experience in the franchise. The insider points to the rumored Assassin's Creed Invictus, which is expected to be a multiplayer-focused game and is said to be available next year. It will reportedly offer a completely different experience than the other games within the series.

As @xj0nathan, a known leakster, shared recently, Assassin's Creed Invictus will reportedly let the players play against each other in different modes, such as free-for-all and team deathmatch. The tipster further shares that the gameplay will be arcade-style, with elements similar to the other known games like Super Smash Bros.

There will reportedly be maps that are based on the previous Assassin's Creed games, and Invictus is said to have popular playable characters like Ezio and Cesare Borgia. If these reports hold true, especially the one about a co-op mode of Shadows, Ubisoft may just win back many players who were disappointed due to not-so-successful recent entries in the series.
