New AAA game set in the DC Comics Universe likely under development as per WB Games job listing

WB Games Montréal is reportedly working on a new AAA game set in the DC Comics Universe, going by the recent job posting for a Senior Producer role on their website. This project appears to be in its early pre-production stage, with the studio seeking an experienced professional to oversee all phases of development. Although the studio has a recent history of DC-themed titles like Gotham Knights, the reception of their recent projects has been mixed. Gotham Knights, for example, received a lukewarm response from critics, with many criticizing its repetitive gameplay, lackluster combat, and poor optimization. It currently holds a score of 67 on MetaCritic, with a user score of merely 5.3. However, the studio also has some pretty well-received games under its belt, including Batman: Arkham Origins. 

Though specifics about this new game are pretty limited, it’s likely to be a major release, given the studio’s past involvement with DC-related projects. Speculatively, this could mean we could get another Batman-related title or possibly a fresh entry featuring other iconic DC characters (we're keeping our fingers crossed, Superman). The new project could be an opportunity for WB Games Montréal to regain its footing in the DC gaming fandom.

This is exciting news nonetheless. With this hire, the project will most likely see movement, and more details are expected to emerge (although not anytime soon) as development progresses.
