Black Myth: Wukong launched as a third-person action RPG based on a classical Chinese novel. However, a modder named f布布u on Bilibili has transformed it into something that plays more like a modern Call of Duty game.

It's not unusual to see the modding community turn a game into something that doesn't feel like the original at all, and the Black Myth: Wukong mod by a Bilibili user named f布布u is the perfect example. The modder has transformed the third-person action RPG game into a first-person shooter.

More specifically, the mod allows players to fight enemies and bosses with an assault rifle rather than a wooden or iron staff. What's rather interesting is that the modder shows that you can pretty much get through each level without putting in any effort. After all, the AK-47 can do more damage and has more range than a staff. With this, the game turns into something that's quite similar to a Call of Duty title.

Players who have viewed the mod in action are already amused because it adds a new twist to the gameplay. Some are even requesting the modder to bring more guns. Of course, this mod wouldn't let you enjoy Black Myth: Wukong as it's meant to be enjoyed.

While Black Myth: Wukong incorporates modern gameplay mechanics, its combat is purely melee. There are magical abilities, but it doesn't deviate from what's described in the Journey to the West novel the game is based on. However, if you want to experience a different playstyle and still enjoy the same storyline, this mod would definitely be worth considering.
