Black Myth: Wukong was first showcased in August of 2020 and it looked quite promising. Developed by Game Science, a Chinese video game studio, the game eventually came out in August of 2024. At the time, it was only available on PC and the PS5. Now, the studio has announced that an Xbox Series X and Series S version will arrive this year, along with some discounts for all platforms.
The official Black Myth: Wukong account on X has shared that the game will be launching on Xbox Series X and Series S consoles on August 20, 2025. That will be exactly one year after the original release. The game will be available for pre-order via the Microsoft Store starting June 18.
Furthermore, the team is also discounting the game, for the first time, on all platforms, including the upcoming Xbox Series version. The 20% off deal will be available via the PlayStation Store from June 18 to July 3, on PC via Steam and Epic Store from June 20 to July 11, and on the Microsoft Store from June 18 to July 11.
Black Myth: Wukong has been a huge success winning several awards including Players’ Voice Best Action Game at The Game Awards, Game of the Year 2024 at The Stream Awards, and more. On Steam, it sits at ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reviews. The game, which is a single-player experience, is priced at $60 for PC and PS5, and the same price can be expected for the Xbox version (currently not listed).
