Fans usually check the official Stellar Blade X account for the latest news on the PC and PS5 game. However, instead, a crypto scammer has asked followers to invest in a new coin. While the posts have disappeared, the game's developer has yet to regain access.
The Stellar Blade PC release has led to a surge in player counts, but the game has also become a target for a crypto scam. On July 13th, an unidentified hacker compromised the title's official X account. Followers noticed strange posts advertising a new Stellar Blade cryptocurrency. Shift Up founder Hyung-Tae Kim then warned gamers on a separate account to ignore the requests.
On July 14th, Kim revealed that the Stellar Blade developer still hadn't regained access to the account. He also asked fans not to report the crypto scam posts, as it could result in a permanent suspension. Although the suspicious posts are now gone, Shift Up hasn't provided an update. Kim promised that an announcement would come after successfully logging in.

In an example shared on Reddit, a post promoted a Stellar Blade coin. Gamers who supported the cryptocurrency would own rare items and upgrades. As a further incentive, supporters could even influence the future development of the Stellar Blade PC and PS5 versions. Not many Reddit members seemed fooled, but it's likely at least one person invested in the coin.
Popular social media accounts are irresistible to crypto scammers looking for quick profits. In May 2025, the Xbox Facebook and Instagram accounts suffered a similar hack. Once again, the nefarious individuals introduced a new currency using the Xbox brand name.
X is perhaps even more susceptible to security lapses, with major social media presences like the NBA and NASCAR victimized. More frustratingly, the legitimate owners often struggle to regain control of their verified X account. Even a major game developer with a PlayStation affiliation has been unable to resolve the security breach after two days.
