Minix has introduced a brand-new mini PC, the NUC355. It features the Intel Core 3 N355, which is a capable processor from the Twin Lake lineup. With an 8-core configuration, the system stands as a more capable pick than the systems that come with the Intel N150.
The company also highlights that the Intel Core 3 N355 features a better-performing iGPU than the Intel N150. To be precise, it has the UHD Graphics with 32 EUs, while the latter has an integrated graphics with 24 EUs. This, according to Minix, makes the NUC355 a better pick for media consumption and light gaming.
This new mini PC appears to have only one configuration, which pairs the Core 3 N355 with 16 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM and 512 GB of PCIe 3.0 storage. While Minix doesn't mention anything about the memory being upgradeable, it does note that the system can hold up to 4 TB of storage (2 TB WD_BLACK SN850X curr. $149.99 on Amazon).
When it comes to connectivity, the Minix NUC355 appears to have a decent port configuration. More specifically, the system features the following:
- 3x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- 2x HDMI
- 2x USB 3.2 Type-C
- 1x RJ45 Ethernet
- 1x 3.5 mm audio
Among the two USB 3.2 Type-C ports, one is a full-function port, with support for DP and PD. Design-wise, the new Minix mini PC has a compact chassis, measuring 117 x 111 x 36 mm. Other highlights of the NUC355 include WiFi 6, triple-display output support, and Bluetooth 5.2. The launch price is $399, but the company has yet to share when the system will be available for purchase.
