Geekom offers a wide range of compact PC systems, some of which we have already reviewed and reported on. The company has just announced the Geekom A9 Max, another powerful model that boasts the latest technology and strong AI performance.
The heart of the new mini PC is the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, a modern high-end processor that not only impresses with its high computing power but also with integrated AI functions. The chip has 8 cores and 16 threads, supported by a dedicated NPU (neural processing unit). The latter reaches up to 50 TOPS and is specifically designed for AI applications and acceleration. This is further accompanied by 32 GB of DDR5 RAM (5,600 MT/s) and a fast PCIe 4.0 SSD with at least 1 TB of storage. Moreover, there is the option of connecting an additional storage device via a second M.2 interface (M.2-2230).
The A9 Max is also modern in its connectivity. Firstly, there are two USB4 ports with DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 ports for high-resolution image output, meaning that up to four displays can be operated simultaneously. Secondly, several additional USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and two 2.5 Gbit Ethernet ports are on board. Thirdly, an external graphics card can be optionally connected via USB4. Other features inclue VESA mount for flexible mounting on the table or on the wall.
The market launch of Geekom A9 Max is expected take place sometime in the coming months. The price is not yet known, but is likely to be based on its predecessor, the Geekom A8 Max. This started with an RRP of around $1,019, although discount campaigns are often held to push the price well below the $1,000 mark.
