Verdict - Familiar design, powerful CPU and almost always quiet during use
During our test, the Geekom Mini IT13 (2025 Edition) proved to be a powerful mini PC with high-quality features. However, its concept hasn't been revised, as Geekom has retained the device's familiar design. In terms of performance, its Intel Core i9-13900HK offers sufficient reserves for demanding office use, multimedia tasks and even simple creative workloads. Despite its powerful hardware, the system stays quiet and efficient during use, which is mainly due to its conservative power limits. Its wide range of connections is excellent and allows users to connect lots of external devices.
The Geekom IT13 2025 Edition's biggest weakness is its low 3D performance. In this respect, many devices with a newer SoC often offer noticeably better performance. An external graphics card may provide a remedy, but you can only connect one via USB4, whereas devices from Minisforum or Aoostar are equipped with a slightly better-performing OCuLink connection.
The mini PC's compact design paired with its good upgradeability makes it a flexible solution for a wide range of applications. The IT13 performs similarly well when it comes to energy efficiency. Case & connectivity - Dual USB4, but no OCuLink
Visually, the Geekom Mini IT13 is very similar to the Intel NUC models and has the same footprint of 11.7 × 11.2 centimeters. It is slightly larger in height at 4.5 centimeters, as it features space for a 2.5-inch drive—similar to the tall variants of the Intel NUCs. Although Geekom advertises the Mini IT13 as the 2025 Edition, nothing has changed visually compared to the Mini IT12. Its design is similar to the older model and Geekom has also kept the turquoise case.
The Geekom Mini IT13 comes with a good variety of connections. It has four USB-A ports, one of which only supports USB 2.0—ideal for a mouse or keyboard. Two modern USB 4 ports (40 Gbps) significantly expand its range of applications, for example for fast storage or docking stations. Up to four monitors can be operated simultaneously via HDMI and USB4. The mini PC's connectivity also includes a 2.5 Gbit LAN port and a speedy SD card reader (UHS II). Geekom uses a wireless module from MediaTek for wireless communication. The device's WLAN performance is consistently good to very good, ensuring a fast and stable connection.

Maintenance
The Geekom Mini IT13 2025 Edition can be easily opened from the bottom. Four screws secure the base plate, which also serves as a passive SSD cooler. Thanks to its hybrid architecture with powerful P-cores and efficient E-cores, the SoC delivers an excellent balance of performance and energy efficiency. Geekom limits its short-term maximum output to 55 watts, while this is reduced to 35 watts under continuous load. In comparison, the Geekom Mini IT13 2025 Edition ranked directly behind the Minisforum UH125 Pro with the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H.

Cinebench R15 Multi continuous test
Overall, the Geekom Mini IT13 (2025) performed well during the Cinebench R15 stress test. Its performance remained largely stable, with only a minimal drop under continuous load. Even so, it didn't fully utilize its maximum power limit of 55 watts, as the temperature limit kicked in first.

System performance
The Geekom Mini IT13's conservative PL2 slowed down its system performance during the synthetic benchmarks, especially in PCMark 10. However, it performed better in Crossmark and the RAM tests, even outperforming the competition in some cases. The disadvantage of DDR4 compared to DDR5 became particularly clear in the RAM tests. Unfortunately, Geekom hasn't gone for DDR5 RAM.

The Geekom Mini IT13 (2025) is fitted with a 1-TB, M.2-format Kingston NVMe SSD via a PCIe Gen4 connection. The SSD delivers solid performance for everyday tasks, but is more suitable for the mainstream market than for high-end users. Its performance is good enough for typical office, multimedia and system applications. The mini PC supports up to three drives: an NVMe SSD, an additional M.2-2242 SSD (SATA) and a 2.5-inch storage device.

Graphics card and gaming performance
The Intel Iris Xe graphics unit inside the Geekom Mini IT13 only offers limited performance that's mainly sufficient for simple image output. The benchmarks revealed that the iGPU is no longer one of the latest and, as a result, it lagged behind current models such as the Minisforum UH125 Pro. The IT13 is hardly suitable for gaming—only older or less demanding ones can be run. For more demanding graphics applications, an external GPU via USB4 is required.

The Geekom Mini IT13 2025 Edition allows external graphics cards, such as a GeForce RTX 4090, to be connected via USB4, in turn transforming the mini PC into a powerful gaming or workstation system. Compared to OCuLink solutions, however, USB4 has noticeable disadvantages in terms of gaming performance, as the benchmarks showed.

When it comes to noise emissions, the Geekom Mini IT13 usually stays nice and quiet. Its fan is barely audible when idling, and we only measured 29.3 dB(A) under light load—a very good value. Under full load, the noise level rose to a maximum of 42.6 dB(A), but this wasn't permanent. In practice, the level usually settles between 39.6 and 42.6 dB(A) under load.

The Geekom Mini IT13 (2025)'s case only heats up slightly when idle. Under load, we noted slightly higher temperatures at certain points, but these never reached critical values overall. During the stress test with Prime95, the Intel Core i9-13900HK hit a maximum of 82 °C—an uncritical value for the mobile SoC. The CPU's temperature dropped to an average of 75 °C during the further course as a result of the mini PC's 35-watt PL1.

Power management - Almost too frugal for the large power supply
Thanks to the SoC's conservative power targets, the Geekom Mini IT13 is extremely energy efficient. In idle mode, it only consumes 8 to 12 watts, making it one of the more frugal mini PCs in this comparison. Under average load, its energy requirement rises to a low 35 watts, while we only noted 62.5 watts under maximum load. The device's conservatively selected power limits are ultimately responsible for these low values. The included power supply delivers up to 120 watts.

During our test, the Geekom Mini IT13 (2025) impressed us with its strong CPU performance thanks to the installed Intel Core i9-13900HK, good connectivity including USB4, and moderate noise levels. Its energy efficiency is excellent thanks to its conservative power limits. The mini PC is ideal for office and multimedia tasks—compact, fast and suitable for everyday use.

I was already interested in technology from an early age, and I was able to study for my dream job as an IT Systems Electronics Engineer. Subsequently, I started 12 years of military service, during which I learned a lot about technology and constantly kept my knowledge up to date with the latest developments. As I like to share my knowledge, I found Notebookcheck was a very good opportunity for this. In addition, I also work a lot with water cooling and network security.
Originally from Scotland, I grew up and lived in Germany until I completed my high school qualifications before moving back to Scotland to complete my university studies. Growing up bilingual led me to form a close relationship with the English and German languages, often working in the fields of teaching and translation. Most of my childhood was shaped by playing around on new consoles, computers and gadgets and getting to grips with the new craze of the internet and smartphones. This interest has stayed with me well into adulthood. Nowadays, I live in Glasgow and work as a freelance translator and digital media coordinator. I have been translating for Notebookcheck since early 2023.
