Black Myth: Wukong finally receives ESRB rating for Xbox, hinting at imminent launch
Black Myth: Wukong (see benchmarks here) has officially been rated by the ESRB for Xbox, which probably means that its release on the platform is likely approaching. The game, developed by Game Science, was rated “T” for Teen, due to its inclusion of blood and gore, language, partial nudity, and violence. This news comes nearly two months after its successful launch on PC and PlayStation 5 in August 2024.
The Xbox version was earlier delayed because of technical issues. With the ESRB rating now secured, the game should be nearing its final stages of optimization for the console.
Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG inspired by Chinese mythology and the classic Journey to the West. Players step into the role of Sun Wukong, a powerful individual able to transform into different creatures, cast spells, and engage in melee combat. The game has received a lot of praise for its stunning visuals, rich storytelling, and an engaging combat system.
With the ESRB rating in place, it’s expected that the developers will soon announce the official release date for the Xbox Series X|S version. The Xbox Partner Preview was recently held, so now we can now look forward to future events for an announcement - or who knows, the company might just post a teaser on its social media.
