Upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender-RPG set to be the largest project in franchise history

There is good news for fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender. As revealed by IGN, Saber Interactive and Paramount Game Studios are developing an action RPG set in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe. While the game will be set in the same world as the original series and its sequel The Legend of Korra, it will feature a new storyline. And best of all, the new Avatar game is planned as a genuine AAA title and the franchise's most extensive project to date.

As IGN reports, the game will tell a completely new story and let players take on the role of a new Avatar who lived thousands of years before the original series. You will be able to tame all four elements and make decisions that affect the balance of the world. The story will be developed in close collaboration with Avatar Studios, led by series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

Saber Interactive is known for successful titles such as Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 and World War Z, as well as their work on the Halo Master Chief Collection. The prerequisites for a really good Avatar game should therefore be in place.
