Microsoft has five new games ready for rainy fall days in the coming weeks. Those who like storytelling, fighting games or souls-likes should get their money's worth until mid-October. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can also look forward to a crazy mix of deck-building, roguelikes and puzzles on October 10.

Although there are no newly released games until mid-October, there is a solid number of five new titles from different genres. MLB The Show 24 brings many new features for baseball fans, but can be played exclusively on the Xbox Series X/S (available on Amazon for $480) or Xbox One via the Game Pass. Those looking for an in-depth story might be interested in Open Roads. Fans of fighting games get two new titles - Sifu, a Souls-like single-player beat-'em-up and Mad Streets as a fun multiplayer brawler. If you want to try something completely new, take a look at Inscryption.

MLB The Show 24 – 02.10.2024 (Console)

The baseball simulation MLB The Show 24 sends players to the diamond in various modes. In Road to the Show mode, you create your own baseball player and lead him from the Minor Leagues to the Major Leagues, whereby female characters can also be created for the first time. The Storylines mode covers historic moments in baseball, while players can manage their team in Franchise mode. The Negro Leagues Season, which includes legendary players such as Josh Gibson and Buck Leonard, was introduced in the predecessor and continued in MLB The Show 24.

Open Roads – 02.10.2024 (Console)

Open Roads sends players on a narrative adventure about the relationship between a mother and daughter. The story is told from the daughter's point of view: Tess. It begins when Tess embarks on a journey with her mother, Opal, to uncover family secrets after the death of her grandmother. In the process, they discover old diaries and letters that hint at mysterious events in the past. The game places great emphasis on emotional storytelling and focuses on dialog and exploration. Visually, Open Roads presents itself in a realistic, slightly melancholic comic book look.

Sifu – 02.10.2024 (console, cloud and PC)

Fans of souls-likes might be interested in Sifu - a challenging action beat 'em up that puts players in the role of a young kung fu fighter on a revenge campaign against five of his family's murderers. The game focuses on skill-based martial arts-style combat and features a special aging mechanic: Each time the player dies, the character ages and becomes stronger, but their health points decrease. The aim is to end the vendetta before the character becomes too old and can no longer fight.

Mad Streets – 07.10.2024 (console, cloud and PC)

Mad Streets is a physics-based party brawler with a colorful cartoon look. The exaggerated characters and cartoon physics promise funny fights, but they can also be challenging. As far as the combat system is concerned, the usual principle applies: easy to learn, difficult to master. Players can face off in schoolyards, backyards, or parking lots, engage in local multiplayer with up to four participants, or they can compete online in multiplayer mode.

Inscryption10.10.2024 (console, cloud and PC)

Inscryption combines elements of card games, roguelike mechanics, puzzles and psychological horror to create a very special experience. The story revolves around a card master who involves players in a sinister card game. The stakes: your own life. At its core, Inscryption is a deck-building game in which you collect cards with different abilities and use them strategically to defeat opponents. What makes the game special is that it repeatedly breaks the fourth wall and draws players into various metagames and puzzles.
