Analogue 3D pre-orders open as 8BitDo offers insight into possible release date
Analogue has now accepting pre-orders for its latest field-programmable gate array (FPGA) game console. For context, the company typically runs out of stock within a few moments of listings going live. However, that is not completely true of the Analogue 3D.
Surprisingly, while the device has sold out in white, it remains possible to pre-order the device in black over 24 hours after Analogue began accepting orders. Conversely, the inverse is true for the Analogue 3D's associated 8BitDo 64 controller (curr. $39.99 on Amazon), which can only be ordered in white at the time of publication.
For reference, the Analogue 3D's $249.99 price includes a 16 GB pre-installed SD card, an HDMI cable, a USB cable and a GaN power supply that will supply up to 30 W with a JPN/US plug type. In other words, Analogue will not be including a controller in the box, unlike the original Nintendo 64 to which the Analogue 3D pays homage. Currently, Analogue states that the 3D will begin shipping in Q1 2025, which could well be March 19 if the 8BitDo 64's release date is anything to go by.
