Rumor reveals launch date of MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini with Apple M4
Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman, who has often provided correct information about unreleased Apple products in advance over the past few years, has learned that Apple will be holding a hands-on event for new products in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 30.
Since this event is intended to give the press the opportunity to try out new products, these should naturally be available by then. This indicates a launch on October 30, although an announcement the day before is also conceivable. According to Mark Gurman, Apple will announce the new Macs in a livestream and publish press releases at the same time. The following product announcements are expected at the launch event:
- 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro (Apple M4 / M4 Pro / M4 Max)
- 24-inch iMac (Apple M4)
- Mac mini (Apple M4 / M4 Pro)
- Magic Keyboard 2
- Magic Mouse 2
- Magic Trackpad 2
The MacBook Pro and iMac are not expected to receive any major changes apart from the new processor. The Mac mini, on the other hand, is rumored to be getting a brand-new design with a smaller housing and USB-C ports on the front, but will do without USB-A ports altogether. Above all, the new Mac accessories are expected to receive USB-C port upgrades. As our benchmarks (embedded below) show, the passively cooled CPU of the Apple M4 in the iPad Pro is considerably faster than the Apple M3 Pro, so Mac customers can expect a significant upgrade.
