Redesigned Mac Mini with M4, M4 Pro SoCs and five USB-C ports revealed within Apple's software
Apple is indeed working on a new Mac Mini, as indicated by a string of code within Apple's software discovered by Aaron Perris, which he shared via Twitter.
This falls in line with the previous reports from Mark Gurman, who claimed that the upcoming Mac Mini will feature its biggest redesign in over a decade, shrinking down to the size of an Apple TV. He also mentioned it would sport Apple's M4 and M4 Pro SoCs while opting for a USB-C-only setup with five ports.
The redesigned Mac Mini is expected to launch sometime in the coming weeks, likely at an October event, alongside the M4 Pro and M4 Max-powered MacBook Pro lineup and a new entry-level iPad, succeeding the iPad 10 (currently $299 on Amazon).
Apple's 12-inch MacBook (2015) was the company's first Mac based solely around USB-C, and was met with widespread criticism at launch due to its extremely limiting port selection. Whether or not Apple is about to repeat history with its upcoming Mac Mini, remains to be seen.
