Apple likely to introduce new M4 Pro, M4 Max-powered MacBook Pro lineup alongside entry-level iPad 11 at upcoming event
Apple recently concluded the 'It's Glowtime' event wherein the company introduced the iPhone 16 series alongside the Watch Series 10 and the AirPods 4. Although those are yet to hit shelves, the Cupertino giant is already preparing to unveil yet another batch of widely awaited products, including new MacBook Pros and iPads.
This information comes courtesy of Mark Gurman, shared via his PowerOn newsletter. According to him, Apple is set to announce updates to its entire MacBook Pro lineup in the coming weeks, with shipments having already commenced from factories. This is in line with previous reports, which indicated that the new MacBook Pros had already entered mass production last month.
Although the upcoming MacBook Pros will not feature any major design changes, they are expected to boast substantial performance improvements thanks to M4-series chipsets, including the M4 Pro and M4 Max high-end SoCs. The 24-inch iMac has also been slated to receive the M4 treatment at this upcoming event, although there was no mention of a 27-inch or higher-sized iMac with higher-end SoCs.
Alongside the MacBook Pro and iMac, the soon-to-be refreshed Mac Mini is also expected to boast the M4 and M4 Pro SoCs, along with a major design overhaul which is expected to reduce its footprint down to that of an Apple TV. Considering the Mac Mini has sported the same design for over a decade, this will most certainly be a welcome upgrade.
Furthermore, Mark also expects new iPads to be introduced at the event. He mentioned that lower-end iPads are likely to be presented at the event, which likely refers to the successor to the iPad 10 (currently on sale at $319 on Amazon).
All in all, Apple's upcoming event is most likely scheduled for sometime in October, if Mark's 'sometime in the coming weeks' statement is taken to be true, which won't exactly be surprising considering that October is typically the time when Apple likes to introduce new Macs and iPads, as it repeatedly has in the past.
