JBL Tour 3 Pro premium wireless noise-cancelling earbuds with wired playback support launched at equally premium price
JBL's recently announced Tour 3 Pro premium earbuds have become available for purchase, starting at a whopping $299 in the US. The earbuds are undoubtedly pricey, but their plethora of features and respectable audio performance do a great job of justifying their price tag.
The Tour 3 Pro supports active noise cancellation, which JBL calls 'True Adaptive Noise Cancellation 2.0'. The system does a pretty good job of canceling noise, as indicated by SoundGuys' review. The earbud's s dual-driver setup allows for great sound reproduction, which is expected to suit a wide variety of listening preferences thanks to its different EQ modes. Support for spatial audio is also present, made possible by head-tracking capabilities.
The Tour 3 Pro's smart charging case is by far its most impressive feature. It is decently compact, and boasts a touchscreen that allows for easy sound and noise-cancellation level adjustments. Interestingly, the case also functions as an audio transmitter for the earbuds, allowing for wired use through the case's provided 3.5 mm audio jack or USB-C port.
As far as battery life is concerned, it should hardly be a matter for concern. JBL claims up to 7 hours of use with adaptive ANC on, and up to 11 hours with ANC off. The charging case is capable of topping up the earbuds thrice, for a total of 44 hours of music playback without ANC. Making phone calls with the Tour 3 Pros should be a decent experience as well, considering JBL's six-mic setup along with its Crystal AI algorithm.
