Apple analyst offers new release insights into upcoming MacBook Air, Mac Pro, iPhone SE 4, iPhone 17 and more
Apple's next hardware launch is supposedly imminent, having presented a new iPad mini last week. As we discussed yesterday, three new Macs are anticipated to debut simultaneously on October 30, all with Apple M4 series chipsets. To recap, the Mac mini, MacBook Pro and 24-inch iMac are all reputed to be in attendance, including 14-inch and 16-inch variants of its popular laptop. However, only the Mac mini is expected to receive a redesign from its predecessor (curr. $529 on Amazon).
Based on a new report from Mark Gurman, Apple has now firmed launch plans for 2025. Supposedly, the company will kick off next year by revealing new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air laptops. According to the Apple analyst, these laptops will arrive between January and March bearing the codenames J713 and J715, respectively. Unfortunately, they too will receive next to no visible changes apart from an obligatory upgrade to Apple M4 chipsets.
Meanwhile, the iPhone SE 4 should debut sometime next spring with all of the features that have leaked so far. On top of that, the eleventh generation iPad and a new iPad Air tablets are in order, as are compatible keyboard accessories. Moreover, the Mac Studio with the same M4 generation chipsets is due between March and June codenamed J575.
After that, Gurman anticipates that Apple will deliver the Mac Pro in 2H 2025, again with a focus on internal rather than external upgrades. Furthermore, Apple's first smart home display is scheduled for release in 2025 too, details of which we have covered separately. As always, Apple will round out the summer with the iPhone 17 series, which is still expected to feature the iPhone 17 Air instead of a new 'Plus' model.
