Typically, we refrain from covering sensitive topics as much as we can. But a recent discovery courtesy of a tweet by an Apple employee highlights an incredible humanitarian endeavor undertaken by Apple that was mostly overlooked — until now, that is.
In the post, the employee expressed deep gratitude for Apple's intervention to safely evacuate her grandmother, along with others, presumably, from Kharkiv during the turmoil in 2023. Apple implemented a full-scale operation as the crisis worsened, which included security contractors, translators, and an amazing degree of logistical coordination. The company even paid for the entire operation without turning it into a publicity stunt.
In an age where tech behemoths are often viewed as impersonal and remote, Apple's activities serve as a welcome reminder of the positive effects that these companies can have on their employees' lives. Seldom does one get to reflect on the extent to which Apple went.
The tweet, which contains a screenshot of an e-mail from CEO Tim Cook concerning the situation, has been embedded below. Truly heartwarming, is it not?
