New Mac mini leaks with fresh design, up to 64 GB of RAM and Apple M4 Pro chipset
Apple unveiled its new 24-inch iMac on Monday, less than two weeks after updating the iPad mini with a seventh-generation model. While the iPad mini 7 utilises last year's A17 Pro, the latest 24-inch iMac is the first Mac to debut with an Apple M4 chipset (curr. $1,299 on Amazon). Apple does not appear to be finished with new Mac product release just yet, though.
Along with yesterday's announcement, Apple hinted that it would also be revealing more devices later this week. Based on current expectations, these devices will be at least updated versions of the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16, as well as revised Mac mini. Incidentally, MacRumors has now discovered evidence of the latter in a comparison table on Amazon, evidence of which we have embedded below.
If accurate, then it seems the next Mac mini will receive not only M4 and M4 Pro chipsets, but also a complete redesign that looks like a pint-sized Mac Studio. Similarly, Apple has reduced the front-mounted port selection to a 3.5 mm jack and a pair of USB Type-C ports. On top of that, the same table appears to confirm aspects of the unreleased M4 Pro chipset, such as the inclusion of 14 CPU cores, 20 GPU cores and up to 64 GB of unified memory. Currently, Apple is expected to officially present the Mac mini and M4 Pro chipset later today.
